The Many Uses Of Kitchen Bar Stools

Kitchen bar stools are a piece of furniture that many people are beginning to include as part of their standard decor. There are many reasons that you might want to consider having bar stools in your kitchen, in addition to your standard dining seating.

Many people like to choose their kitchen bar stools to match the rest of their dining room furniture, and there is no shortage of options! For example, you could choose stools made out of wood, or go for a more modern look and get metal stools. If you go with wood, you could choose either a simple classy design, or you could get an ornately carved piece of art. You can even opt for your kitchen bar stools to have a backrest, although most don’t have this. Do you want your stools to swivel, or remain stationary? (Warning, if you get swivel chairs and you have children, they WILL spin themselves around on the stool like a top. It’s one of the rules that all kids must abide by!)

Another cool thing about bar stools is that they can add to the atmosphere of the room. Bar stools are quite a bit taller than a traditional chair. The average stool is about 30 inches tall, compared to 18 inches for a dining chair. When socializing with your friends and family, this can create a different vibe, since everyone is seated at a higher level. If you invite your friends over for a few cocktails, it really makes a difference if everyone sits in a bar stool rather than in low chairs. Everything just feels more classy.

From a more pragmatic perspective, a set of kitchen barstools can allow you to entertain a larger group of people in your kitchen. I like to invite my friends over to my home to work on craft projects (which we need to do on a flat surface), and before we got our stools we would often find ourselves running out of seating room. We would usually do these projects at the kitchen table, but now we can have a group at the table (seated in regular chairs), and another group around the kitchen counter (seated in bar stools)

I will probably always be a big fan of including bar stools at my kitchen counter. It is a daily ritual of mine to drink my coffee, eat my cereal, and read the daily paper on my favorite stool. I just feel like it gets me going for the day. The higher view gives me a great view out of all the windows and around my home. Not to use a cliché, but I really feel like I am on top of the world when I sit in it!
